When You Think of Me’ was written in 2008, it debuted on The Beth Coleman Band’s ‘Back Home to Galax’ album that same year.
Written by Tim while the US was fighting the ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom’ campaign,
WHEN YOU THINK OF ME
KNOW THAT I THINK OF YOU
THAT’S ALL I EVER DO
ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT THROUGH
WHEN YOU THINK OF ME
KNOW THAT MY LOVE IS TRUE
AND I WANT TO HAVE YOU HERE WITH ME
EMPTY MY ARMS WILL BE
EACH AND EVERY NIGHT
TILL YOU COME BACK AGAIN
AND HOLD ME TIGHT
SINCE YOU WENT AWAY
TIME PASSES WAY TOO SLOW
OH WON’T YOU HURRY BACK HOME TO ME
WHEN YOU THINK OF ME
LOOK AT THE STARS AT NIGHT
AND KNOW THAT EVERY LIGHT
HOLDS A WISH I WISHED FOR YOU
AND WHEN THE MORNING COMES
I’LL SAY A PRAYER FOR YOU
I’LL ASK THE LORD TO BRING YOU BACK HOME TO ME
EMPTY MY ARMS WILL BE
EACH AND EVERY NIGHT
TILL YOU COME BACK AGAIN
AND HOLD ME TIGHT
SINCE YOU WENT AWAY
TIME PASSES WAY TOO SLOW
OH WON’T YOU HURRY BACK HOME TO ME
the song gives an intimate view of a woman who promises to wait for her soldier and be true to him until he returns back to her. It speaks of the two lovers though separated a hemisphere apart, both share the same night sky including the stars each holding wishes for the other.
The song was dedicated to all the fighting men and women serving the country and spent months as the theme song for a radio show out of New York City called ‘Weaponry’ The original version was nominated for a Grammy in 2010.
The new version features the wonderful vocals of Vanessa Viscomi.
